ESD Carts for Transporting Materials

Metro SmartTray ESD carts are designed to maximise productivity by speeding up workflow, minimising damage when handling PCBs and providing superior ESD protection. The 457 x 660 mm (18 x 26 in.) footprint of the electrically conductive PCB system trolleys allows for the handling of PCBs of various sizes.

Formed from Metrostat fibreglass material, the SmartTray trays of the ESD carts with Metrolac protective surface coating provide permanent ESD protection for sensitive electronic parts. The ESD safe SmartTray tray supports efficient tracking of work-in-progress and finished products through the use of barcode technology. The ESD trays and their contents can be tracked during all manufacturing and assembly processes. PCBs and trays can be scanned while they are in the ESD carts instead of scanning each product individually.

Colour-coded accessories for unique identification allow SmartTray ESD trays and ESD carts to be sorted and categorised by product type, application or specific production.

The productivity-oriented Open Starsys® ESD transport and storage system with high storage capacity, adapts to changes and provides safe and convenient access to the stored material. The optional full-extension shelf provides improved handling compared to standard shelving.

The ESD system carts are available in single, double or triple width and can be flexibly combined with fixed or pull-out inner shelves.

The double and triple width ESD carts can be divided internally into vertical compartments to accommodate single or double width shelves as required. Vibration-damping ESD castors ensure safe handling and protect the sensitive PCBs from vibrations.

ESD cart covers provide additional protection for product storage in the ESD cart. The ESD cart covers are conductive on the outside and static dissipative on the inside. With a document pocket on the outside, the ESD cart covers provide space for storing information on work orders, inspection records and other supporting documentation.
